DETERMINING THE STRESS AND ANXIETY LEVELS OF MOTHERS WITH INFANTS IN THE NEONATAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Objective: The hospitalization of a newborn for any reason and the separation mother infant can be source stress during Covid-19 pandemic. aim this study was to determine anxiety levels mothers with babies in neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) Methods: This descriptive carried out 105 whose were hospitalized NICU hospital Eskisehir province Turkey between May 14 June 14, 2020. Results: Participants ranged age from 18 42 years old, an average 29.63±5.78. It determined that 54.3% infants (n=57) admitted immediately after birth remained 7.61±15.18 days. found experienced moderate (PSS: score 3.48±0.99) (PSAS 82.07±21.41) A significant positive relationship PSAS PSS: (p=.003; r=0.290). Conclusions: concluded order reduce anxiety, pandemic period should increase time they spend their baby, both doctors nurses provide information about infant’s condition.
